Bug#330836: System hangs when logging out from gnome

Package: gdm
Version: 2.6.0.8-1

When I log out ( even for shutdown or close session ) the system hangs
out. Even trying shutdown or power off ( being root or not ) the result
is the same.
I've detected that this happens when the script /etc/init.d/gdm stop is
run.
But if I do not bring up gdm, both shutdown -h or poweroff effectively
turn off my pc.
When the system hangs I got this last messege :

"Disabling IRQ #225
ata1: command 0x25 timeout, stat 0x50 host_stat 0x4"

I'm using kernel debian sarge "Linux myDebian 2.6.8-2-386 #1 Thu May 19
17:40:50 JST 2005 i686 GNU/Linux"
Attached to this mail there is a copy of the /var/log/messages file.
