That's strange. libgamin0 (on wich gamin depends) replaces and provides
libfam0, so it should be fine. Works fine on my systems, so it's odd it doesn't
on yours.

Could you recheck to make sure your package management tools aren't confusing
you (or are confused themselves) ?
