That's why you get the crash and Joss cannot, I guess. Gedit seems to
register itself as handler for anything no other application is able to
handle, so gnome_vfs_mime_application never fails heh.

Just for the sake of curiosity, if you're willing, install gedit and
try again. Gedit will probably fire up and say it cannot handle that
kind of file.

I'll upload a version right now that disables the menu item in the
items you had problem with. There's no sane way to handle those special
items that I could come up with.
