 I don't understand how the bug triggers itself with the etch version.
 I can understand than a sarge purge is incomplete, but I don't
 understand why the etch purge is incomplete since we fixed that and
 added a prerm removing the symlink.  I'm happy to add a version check
 on upgrades, but I must first understand how the bug happens.  :-/
