What makes you say this?  AFAICT, this is not so.  At least, the
offending keys are still defined and used in, for example,
gnucash/src/gnome/gnc-plugin-page-register.c.  Current gnucash trunk of
this file can be seen at
http://svn.gnucash.org/trac/browser/gnucash/trunk/src/gnome/gnc-plugin-page-register.c

Search for "Register Type", "Account Name", "Register Style", "Double
Line Mode".
