Bug#351222: gnome-panel: cannot close drawer

I have one drawer in my panel ; when I click the "drawer" icon it
opens, but sometimes it then refuses to close (either by clicking the
drawer icon or the arrow on top of it, or by launching an
application); in that case, the only solution is to xkill the window
(the gnome-session then recreates the panel)

ps: to convince a drawer to close itself, I tried to drag the panel on
the left side of the screeen and then back at its place; and also, I
invoked its property and tried fiddling with it; then the property
window froze, and metacity offered to kill it, and I agreed: as a
result, something nasty happened: I was unable to use the keyboard, to
focus any widget, and to open any menus (altough I could start
application from panel icons, and close them, and iconize...); I had
to reboot

ps2: this problem has been bugging me for long, and it was present with gnome
 2.10 and with Xorg 6.8 as well
