Bug#352134: Can't restore gossip from notification-icon state
without a notification area

Package: gossip
Version: 0.9-1.1
Severity: normal
I normally hide the gossip window by clicking on its icon in the
notification area. However right now I am unable to log into Gnome, and
have fallen back to twm. In twm, and presumably other window managers
that do not provide a notification area, there is no way to get the
gossip window back!
I worked around the problem by unsetting
/apps/gossip/ui/main_window_hidden in gconf-editor; however I had to
restart gossip for this to take effect. IMO gossip should ignore this
setting entirely if there is no notification for it to place its icon
in.
