I would have thought this is rather more a bug that USB keys are  
affected to the floppy group. Thinking about this a bit more, this is  
more a documentation bug in udev rather than a gnome or hal bug. You  
can also close the bug if you think I should have guessed from the  
owner/group of the created device that desktop users should belong to  
the floppy group.
