Bug#353453: gnome-panel: Locally running mathematica 5.2 causes the same problem

I am using Mathematica 5.2 installed on this machine.
If I run Mathematica front-end locally and quit it a few times,
wnck-applet takes 100% of the CPU.
I tested this with the C locale as well as ko_KR.UTF-8, and
the problem appears to be locale independent.
