Bug#353739: gnome-terminal: opening auxillary tabs causes inordinate delay

Hi,

Since upgrading to gnome-terminal 2.12, I've noticed that every time I
open up a second tab, gnome-terminal takes a long time to start the
shell (in my case /usr/bin/zsh, although I see the same behaviour when
my login shell is set to /bin/bash).

It takes longs enough that I am normally able to (begin) opening up
another 2 to 3 tabs.  Eventually the second tab I have opened up will
become ready but input into the shell it 'delayed'.

My only recourse is to close this tab -- what this has meant for me, it
that I now have to open up 5 - 6 terminal tabs before I can get a usable
one (and then I need to close the faulty ones).

Let me know if there is any more information I can give you that might
assist tracking this down, as this is becoming highly frustrating.
