I have the same problem with es_ES.UTF-8 at euro. Also, when login with gdm as root I obtained the
warning "es_ES.UTF-8 at euro does not exists. Changing to SystemDefault". After that I logged off,
changed the locale in the menu to es_ES and logged as root, and the warning dissapeared, but gdm
is still in English.
