Bug#346016: Joining Group Chat and canceling segfault gossip

Hello,

Here are the steps to reproduce the segfault:

- start gossip
- select "join a Group Chat"
- choose "Cancel" in the window
- segfault

When running gossip under gdb, the backtrace does not give much
information and seems corrupted:
