Bug#347615: gnome-session: Long delays on login in 2.12, even after removing .gnome2/session

After the upgrade to 2.12, gnome-session (I suppose) hangs for a long while
with the splashscreen displayed, but no icons inside. The after a minute or
two it comes to life, and login proceeds as usual.

I tried removing .gnome2/session, but that did not help at all.

Any hints on what I might try? It worked perfectly under 2.10, and
downgrading removes the problem.
