Maybe (not the kernel and I can't see how udev could be relevant,
considering that the layout of /dev has not changed in many months),
but if gdm is not starting X on tty7 then I understand that it's not
working as it is configured to do.

I whitelisted your envelope sender, but please send mail from hosts
which are not expected to be widely blacklisted if you want people to
accept your mail.
