Bug#349357: totem: Doesn't occur in 1.3.1

Building 1.3.1 on a Debian unstable box from the GNOME tar ball works fine.

Building 1.2.1 from the Debian sources with the Debian patches (both of
them) fails.

Problem occurs in both totem-gstreamer and totem-xine.

The bug also sometimes manifests as a bug with the "Supported file"
filter, or perhaps a related bug.
