Bug#377755: Disappearing text in pango applications

I can confirm this one, it appears when i select "Monochrome"
rendering (not anti-aliased font) in the Gnome "Font Preferences".
Usually the text isn't rendered after the first space. I've no error
messages on my  "~/.xsession-errors" file. I've attached a couple of
screenshots.
