Bug#373795: gnome-panel applets scrambled after xrandr resize

Package: gnome-panel
Version: 2.14.1-1+b1

I use a laptop. When I connect to "home base" and switch to my bigger
external LCD, I resize the screen. The applets in the gnome-panel get
scrambled and it's annoying to re-organize them regularly.

A similar bug report got filed as "wishlist" because he made a
suggestion on how to fix it but this is really an annoying bug.

I don't know how positions of applets in a panel are determined, but
it's important that they are in the right order regardless of the panel
size. Even on my smaller screen, there is enough panel size to
accommodate all the applets.

My wife has the same problem and it was ridiculous when her
applications/foot menu was shifted to the middle of the panel. This is a
major usability problem ... menus and applets magically move around on
the panel!
