gnome-cd does not play audio.
When I start gnome-cd and I click on "play", it hangs.
At one time, it printed
** (gnome-cd:20845): WARNING **: Generic IO error
By using 'strace', I noticed this behaviour:
When I start gnome-cd, all goes well.
When I press "play", first of all it issues
** (gnome-cd:22009): WARNING **: Could not contact CDDB server
then the strace shows
open("/dev/cdrom", O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK|O_LARGEFILE) = 14
ioctl(14, CDROMREADTOCENTRY, 0xbfde0ebc) = 0
so it seems it is readong the TOC allright
then the CD spins but no audio comes out
(I also opened alsamixer and put all volumes to a max) ;
by looking at the strace, I see errors :
ioctl(20, CDROMREADAUDIO, 0xb6de3a1c) = -1 EINVAL (Invalid argument)
then I hit stop, gnome-cd hangs and it never recovers (I have to kill it);
strace shows
