Bug#357466: gnome-applets: Volume Applet disappeared from Panel

When upgrading from 2.10 to 2.12, certain icons, including the Volume Applet
icon, seem to have disappeared.

I thought that Volume Applet itself was broken, until I, by chance, found
that the Volume Applet "button" is now 1 pixel wide.
