Bug#252543: How to override default config?

At my last upgrade (I might have skiped one) I also switched to the package maintainer config file. Then I tried to put back my customization in the provided empty gdm.conf but to no effect. I just copied the relevant lines from the old config. I dont have either because I tried to fix it by purging the package, but from memory, it was something like this:
/etc/gdm/gdm.conf
[servers]
0=Standard #changed to match old config
#added from old config
[servers-Default]
name=Standard server
command=/usr/bin/X11/X :0 -dpi 100 -audit 0
flexible=true
Where is "-dpi 96" set and how can I override it?
Sorry if you think it's not related to this bug, but I was reluctant in sending a new bug-report
Thanks
Andrei
