I just dist-upgraded and things have very slightly changed:
now I can see gnome-panel starting, but nothing loads in the panels, X
crashes before that.
I'm attaching .xsession-errors. There seems to be a problem with pmount,
but i don't know if that's the cause of the crash.
FWIW, I don't see the backtrace in Xorg.0.log anymore. Actually, that
log looks rather normal...
