This doesn't render the package unusable. At most, it renders one
functionality unusable. Downgrading severity.

You may be experiencing bug #390140, though the backtrace is a bit
different...
Can you try to set /apps/epiphany/web/enable_pango with gconf-editor
and see if that works around the crash ?
