Bug#390030: totem: dvd playback performance is suboptimal

totem's dvd playback uses 100% of my cpu and the video is choppy.
mplayer and kmplayer use 25% or less of the total cpu (on the same
hardware as totem).

totem's dvd playback performance needs to be improved to the same level
as mplayer.
