How come you are reporting bugs to Debian if you're running Ubuntu? ;-)
Anyway, I have marked the bug as forwarded as this has been reported
before, and there are patches available.

This bug against gnome-session can also be of interest, I believe the
fade code in gksu comes from gnome-session initially?
