no... there is not... all I am able to get is 

(gweather-applet-2:9538): GWeather-WARNING **: Failed to get METAR data.

forecast data.

I cannot think of anything I could have changed... Do you use network
manager ?

I ran wireshark and saw exactly nothing. no packet is going in or out
wtf ?!?

so I will have to debug this :(
