Bug#415273: crashes shortly after opening "att_opening_brief.pdf"

I can reproduce this bug, and furthermore evince crashes on attempting to 
save nearly every large scanned pdf file from the main journal archives 
like JSTOR etc., which makes evince of limited utility for me.

If this is fixed in newer versions is there any way you could propagate a 
fix into etch? This is a relatively recent regression in etch - I don't 
recall this happening a month or so ago, i.e. it only started happening 
right before the release.

I have attached a typical strace of evince crashing.
