I have tried, but it seems that I can't get it to fail any more now. I
don't really understand but reinstalling the broken package doesn't
bring back the problem.

I guess the bug can be closed, but there was definitely something
strange going on; two different systems a couple of months apart showing
the exact same symptoms.
