Package: update-manager
Version: 0.42.2ubuntu22-11
Severity: normal
update-manager (and -notifier) don't have a man page. This is especially annoying as those programs cannot be started as 'ordinary
user' from the command line, but rather have to be started as 'gksu update-manager', which is not obvious for first-time users.
The man page should also tell how to access the settings. Especially to kde users it is not obvious, that update-manager's settings
are changed by running a seperate program called 'Software Properties' from the kde --> settings menue.
It might be helpful, if the man page would also describe how to acces the program from the menu. In kde it is kde -> Settings ->
Update Manager.
[The description in update-manager's help screens just applies to gnome, but I guess that's another bug. ]
Thanks,
Johannes
