Did you also try strace to see if ekiga can find the plugins?

Andreas Henriksson replied to your bug report and says Ekiga works
without problems on his AMD64 system.

I don't think your bug report should be removed, but as it doesn't seem
to affect all AMD64 users I think the severity should be lowered to
important as this is an RC bug otherwise.
