Bug#399980: libxklavier -slovak keyboard in qwerty variant dosen't work and has very strange effects

I have reported this at Xorg and received the answer, that works:
   Option "XkbLayout" "sk,us"
   Option "XkbVariant" "qwerty,"


The keyboard switching has "just worked" with Debian Sarge. I see room 
for much improvement in Etch only to keep up with the old good Sarge.
