Bug#434642: gnome-terminal: up/down arrows stopped working for history

After

apt-get dist-upgrade

the up/down arrows stopped working in gnome-terminal to browse through the
command history. They work fine in xterm. I don't know if this problem is in
gnome-terminal package itself, or somewhere else. If you don't have any idea,
what could be wrong, I'll try to install packages from testing/stable to find
the exact version, that stopped working.

I'll be happy to provide more
information if needed.
