 I was about to sponsor this upload, but I couldn't match the change
 which is supposed to fix these issues.  In fact, the upstream bug is
 still open for one of them, and there's one with a patch.

 I suggest you don't close these with the new upstream release; IMO
 these are not fixed.  Perhaps this is not reproducible for you becaues
 you don't use the same font as the submitters?
