No, if gnome-screensaver its installed, this get the default screensaver
and doesnt look to xscreensaver. I have an example on my computer with
xscreensaver installed and configured OK to work (default to start on 5
min idle) and gnome-screensaver configured to not work (disabled) the
applet doesn't work. And, the configuration option of the applet, launch
the configuration panel for the default screensaver (gnome if its
installed). Because this, its impossible to configure xscreensaver with
default to the applet if gnome-screensaver its installed.
