Erm, I'm not sure what bug you are reporting. There is a Dual View in
evince (in the menu, go to "View", pick "Dual"). When it comes to
displaying the first page, evince should usually just do the right
thing, though there are some bugs in that area that were fixed in the
new version in experimental. You may want to test if it does what you
expect, but please report back so that I understand what's missing from
your POV.
