Ok; there's a new upstream release, .10, which fixes at least one IM
problem:
329450 Crash on IM switch ... (was already reported earlier)
But it doesn't look like yours.
Could you try the Gtk at:
<http://people.dooz.org/~lool/debian/gtk+2.0/2.10.10-1-UNRELEASED/sid-pbuilder/>
(It has some other regressions which prevent the upload, such as
breaking Epiphany's tabs.)
