i agree. a feature like this would have been useful for something
that i was working on a while back, but it doesn't really make a lot
of sense as a terminal feature.
i didn't realize gedit would accept escape sequences as search terms.
it's pretty nice that it does. maybe there should be a note in the
gedit find dialog that says something like "escape sequences such as
\n, \t, etc are acceptable search terms"?
