pulseaudio-esound-compat conflicts esound, but it seems
the VU meter "vumeter" no longer works with pulseaudio-esound-
compat: For me it says "Cannot connect to sound daemon. Please
run "esd" at a command prompt.

But even if it worked, it would be confusing to the user to
have two competing vu meters[1] (one of them working only in 
some applications), so I think it would be good to remove
vumeter at least from the menu, as the pavumeter of pulseaudio
is much nicer anyway and it is redundant.

[1] actually four: two for recording, two for playback
