No, the error doesn't seem to reappear when I try now.

I do not get any error messages when installing the "pypanel" package, which 
depends on python.

No error messages when starting the python2.4 or python2.5 shell.

If you think this is something completely harmless, with no lasting effect on 
the system after the error message, I will be happy to close it again.
