Bug#453059: libgtk2.0-0: buggy libpixbufloader-jpeg.so causes problems with Thunar file manager

Hi!

Yes I have hundreds of pictures showing this. And at least a few that
don't :) As I said it seems to depend on the size of the picture. To
get sure about this I took a picture that shows this issue and saved
it with gimp. Then I draw a big area within the picture with one colour
and saved it to another file. Of course the resulting file is smaller
because of the jpeg-compression. So the result is that with the smaller
file the error does not occur and with the bigger one it does. So it
really seems to depend on the file size and not the picture size.

There is also an easier way to reproduce the error. You can execute the
thumbnailer directly. Just type
$ /usr/lib/thunar/thunar-vfs-pixbuf-thumbnailer-1 100 highland_park2.jpg test2.png
and a nice thumbnail test.png is created (the number is to set the
size of the thumbnail and has to be smaller or equal 256)
Then try
$ /usr/lib/thunar/thunar-vfs-pixbuf-thumbnailer-1 100 highland_park1.jpg test1.png
and you should get the same error message as I do and no thumbnail.

Then you can also replace the file libpixbufloader-jpeg.so with the one
I attached too (it's from libgtk2.0-0 version 2.8.20-7 used in etch).
Then try again
$ /usr/lib/thunar/thunar-vfs-pixbuf-thumbnailer-1 100 highland_park1.jpg test1.png
and everything should work fine.

I'm not sure which other applications use the gdk-pixbuf loaders, so
I don't know if they open the pictures. If you know an application
that uses the libpixbufloader-jpeg.so for sure I will try it.

kind regards,
Stefan
