Hi,
Totem already does this.
Do you use gnome-screensaver, xscreensaver or something else? Did this
work prior to 2.20?
You could, at least with gnome-screensaver, kill the process and run it
in a terminal, like this:
gnome-screensaver --no-daemon --debug
and check for any messages from totem. There's also some debugging
instructions for totem and xscreensaver here, but I'm not sure if they
are up to date: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333830
