 Right; I agree.

 I tend to delay removal of maintainer field when the maintainer has
 only been shortly MIA.  In this case, I just went ahead and made the
 team Maintainer in our SVN.  I think for long term MIA-ness, this helps
 spotting packages which could benefit from a Maintainer:.
