Bug#441092: evince: Evince debug output (assertion failure) breaks mc display

When I open a pdf file (for example R-intro.pdf, but reproducable on
virtually any pdf file) from mc by pressing Enter, evince opens it
nicely, and renders it without any problems. But when I close Evince,
the following debug information appears at the bottom lines of xterm
holding mc:

`GTK_IS_TREE_MODEL (model)' failed

`GTK_IS_LIST_STORE (list_store)' failed

The mc is still operational, but the display is "shifted" up by Evince
debug output. When I try to move up and down the files list, the
display is not updated and the current filename is displayed on top of
the "shifted" output. This leads to a complete mess.

The bugs indicated by debug messages should be eliminated, or at least
the messages should not go to stdout.
