 Ah ok.

 Upon further investigation, it seems to happen with cups 1.3:
    <http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348908>
 And KDE got the bug too:
    <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=438558>

 I'm tempted to blame an API change in CUPS, but KDE has fixed the
 issue, so perhaps it was an API abuse; I'll need to investigate
 further.
