Bug#456773: [eog] eog doesn't displayed EXIF info anymore

I was bothered by this "bug" too, so I did some more digging and came
across the same "problem" experienced by Ubuntu users:

This is not a bug. The EXIF sidepane has been replaced by the metadata dialog,
that you can open with Alt+Enter, or through File->Properties->Metadata. 

The sidepane option that you see grayed out is intended to activate a sidepane
that can be used by plugins. If there is no plugin activated using the
sidepane, this will be grayed out.

So, it turns out not to be a bug after all, just a change of design.
