It's somewhat improved in more recent versions. gnome-volume-manager
2.22.5 (currently only available from pkg-utopia svn) removes a lot of
the overlapping functionality. If you are using nautilus 2.22 then I
strongly recommend using gnome-volume-manager 2.22.5 as well.
