Package: totem
Debian lenny amd64
$ dpkg --list | grep totem
ii libtotem-plparser10 2.22.3-1
Totem Playlist Parser library - runtime version
ii totem-common 2.22.2-5
Data files for the Totem media player
ii totem-gstreamer 2.22.2-5 A
simple media player for the GNOME desktop based on GStreamer
ii totem-mozilla 2.22.2-5
Totem Mozilla plugin
ii totem-plugins 2.22.2-5
Plugins for the Totem media player
I regularly have more than one user logged in, and use the function for
switching between users (e.g. I click `lock screen', the other user
clicks `switch user', ...)
If a DVD is inserted while two users are logged in, multiple copies of
totem are started automatically, one for each user who is logged in:
$ ps aux | grep totem
visitor 28722 3.8 0.6 335532 27788 ? Dl 01:42 0:00 totem
/media/cdrom0
daniel 28724 38.5 1.8 604544 73836 ? SLl 01:42 0:05 totem
/media/cdrom0
The video and audio is corrupted and CPU usage is higher/noisier,
although the cause is not obvious. Killing one of the two totem
processes fixes all the problems and the picture and sound are normal.
