No, it sets usr/lib/$(DEB_HOST_GNU_TYPE) instead of usr/lib32.

That would do the trick. Is there a way to pass params from
dpkg-buildpackage to debian/rules?

Then I'd only need to add the extra chrpath call to keep lintian happy
(attached).
