The clock applet uses the locale setting of LC_MESSAGES to decide which date
format to use. It should use LC_TIME, instead.


Steps to reproduce:

With the following locale settings:

$ locale | egrep 'TIME|MESSAGES'
LC_TIME=pl_PL.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
$

... clock applet displays the date in the US format, ignoring LC_TIME.
