I retried it with evince 2.20.2-1 and poppler 0.6.2-1 (both are in
both lenny and sid).  The problem still occurs.

With this PDF it works fine.

I can't do that since the University does not allow me to publish this
document (sigh).  I have however permission to give it privately to
anyone directly involved in fixing the bug.  I'm going to send a copy
to you (Sven) via private mail.
