The package description currently ends:

"The goal is a standard graphics viewer for future releases of Gnome."

As far as I can see this goal has already been reached: eog is the
standard GNOME graphics file viewer. Therefore I suggest you change
the sentence to "eog is the standard GNOME graphics file viewer."
